Yeah, 'inotify' also sprang to my mind. Like you though, I'm unaware of such a program, and doubt it wouldn't bring with it unreasonable dependencies (everything seems to be linking to glib these days!). If someone could tell me where to dump the script for tcp_window_scaling, I'd appreciate it. I've currently got it in /etc/dev.d/net/ipv4/tcp_window_scaling.dev but it doesn't get called. If someone could tell me how you find this info out for any particular device or proc entry I'd appreciate it.
