Randy, Thanks very much for your work on this. It's considerably helped my build this week. I can confirm that it works (heck, I'm using it right now). The thing I liked most was the helpful 'don't forget to put this in your environment' hints - this has always seemed a black art to me until now. I only have two issues left. 1) Some of the download links are broken, where the directory name has changed as well as the version increment. 2) Evolution won't configure: it's demanding particular version .pc files in pkgconfig.
