It depends...
If you want a straight 64bit box (no 32bit libs) with 64bit libs installed
into */lib (well, except for libgcc which will get installed wherever gcc
sees fit) you _should_ be able to do a standard lfs build, as long as you
build gcc with the --disable-multilib option.
If you want a bi-arch system (32/64) you are probably better off doing a
cross-lfs.
