My intention in making this (nowhere near finished!) rendered version of the book available is so that it will answer a few questions about what cross-lfs is and aims to be, making it possible for more to get involved or interested in the book, offer comments, suggestions, etc.

I successfully built a 64bit LFS system for the x86_64 from a 32bit LFS 6ish i686 system running on the AMD64. I would like to volunteer to help with this if you need a hand.

Was your build pure 64-bit, or was it a bi-arch toolchain. I could see where current cross-lfs would probably work for a pure 64-bit toolchain, with some modifications, even from a 32-bit host distro, but currently there's not enough there to provide a bi-arch toolchain.

I'm willing to help with x86_64 builds as well, when something is ready.

It was a pure 64-bit build, that was enough trouble, a bi-arch probably would have pushed me over the edge. Since it was pure 64-bit I installed to lib instead of lib64.
