Neither I, or the family, use it much anymore. This machine will dual-boot to
both OS 9 as well as OS X. Always in a non-smoking environment. Currently, it's
running OS 9.2.2 on a separate partition and drive in addition to OS X 10.4.
and OS X 10.5 on separate partitions and drives.
Upgraded G4 Gigabit Ethernet tower, Code Name “Mystic”. Family name M5183.
My primary Mac since 2002 and for recording my LP's digitally. Originally a
500MHz dual processor PowerPC, (Uni-North N-7 mobo), it's been upgraded to a
Newer Technology MaxPower single-core 2.0 GHz processor, (the fastest PowerPC
CPU upgrade made for the entire G4 model line). I will include the OEM 500 MHz
dual CPU, which is needed for firmware re-installs. This CPU is fully
functional, and not a DOA. Boxed separately but shipped with the tower.
RAM is matched and maxxed out at 2GB.
Video is nVIDIA GeForce 6200 AGP with both DVI and VGA ports. GPU clock is
300MHz and memory is 256MB. Card is passively cooled with no fan. Supports both
Core Image and Quartz Extreme in OS X. No video acceleration is supported in OS
9. This is a "flashed to Mac" PC card that has performed beyond expectations.
Never an issue with anything, VGA or DVI. Supports dual monitors VGA or DVI up
to 24". I used to run twin 22" widescreens. Just gorgeous. Absolutely no noise
for recording audio.
Hard drives are SATA through an ACARD 6280M SATA1 PCI card controller. (150MB/s
throughput)
Drive 1 is a Hitachi Deskstar 500 GB
Drive 2 is a Maxtor DiamondMax 200 GB
Drives are formatted and ready for any OS install. No software disks/manuals
included except for the NewerTech CPU upgrade. PC and drives will be shipped
"clean" per LemSwap rules
Generic Mac-compatible USB 2 PCI card with 4 ports. No issues in OS X or OS 9
Samsung TSST Corp 16X DVD-RW dual layer burner, model CDDVDW SH-S202J. Burned 6
DVD’s and about a dozen CDRW’s since purchased new in 2008. No issues.
EverCool Rocket single PCI slot dual fan with on/off rheostat fan speed
control. Replaces air at 40 cubic ft. per minute.
Case is like-new with the exception of one thumb-size scratch and the the door
latch is broken. Door is kept closed via the lock loop at the back. All handles
have no cracks or checks.
Shipping costs will be calculated at 50 lbs. total shipping weight to any
destination. Free local pickup. I will also deliver free within the
Cincinnati/Dayton/Richmond, IN area if it’s reasonably close to my daily
