Not that I've taken an interest in the WC for a good few decades, but  
I get what Rich is on about. There have been other mass giveaways to  
fans at tournaments that make irritating sounds that really grate  
while trying to watch the game. I can't think of one off hand apart  
from perhaps those poxy blow up things that you still see  
occasionally, kids usually have them & bang the two ends together to  
make a noise.
