The 1970 cup final is the first televised football match I remember, but before that there was a rugby league match, Salford v Castleford I think (a bit of reconstruction here...) was in 1968. For some reason, probably the shirts, I supported Salford. That was about the time I started explicitly supporting Leeds - I had a bubble gum (bazooka joe?) that had a little slip of paper inside with the Leeds kit on it. My dad said that that was my team and so it was ;)
