1st match home to Arsenal.....August 79/80.....1-1....Paul Hart put us in front...was on MOTD....Harvey saved a penalty from Talbot. A few days before we had drew at home 1-1 with them in League Cup......a few days later they did us 7-0 in away leg. Best bit of that season was all the Adamson Out stuff. My 1st away game (April same season) was a 2-0 defeat at Derby....lots of damage afterwards. The match programme was a newspaper !
Last night on Men & Motors.....The Big Match Revisited.......78/79 WBA 1 Leeds 2 (Graham 2)......somone mentioned this game earlier. Some lovely build up play from us......Currie.....Stevenson.....Hawley.....we got into Europe that year.....who would have thought the following year would be such dross. Adamson never replaced Currie. Same show had Sheff Utd on same season.......Hamson and Sabella playing for them.....later to join us.
