Neither team seemed to be able to or want to keep the ball and it was largely hoofed from one end to another hoping that a mistake would lead to a goal.
Is this a report of brighton v Leeeds or the rugby so-called World Cup Final? For once in my life, I am totally in agreement with Rich Walker on the latter. What a joke sport? And waht's the point of having a video ref and holding the game up for mins on end only for him to get the decision wrong ??!! Despise the game as I do, I would still like to have seen England win, and if that try had been correctly adjudged I think we would have. You could see what a sham the whole rugby thing is even before the kick-off................1. Both teams making a totally false show of belting out the words of the national anthems when the camera was on them (no doubt rubbing onions in their eyes when the camera wasn't.) At least footballers have the honesty to look totally bored by God save the Parasite. 2. TV people carefully picking out the few token black people in the crowd during their anthem in a pathetic attempt to pretend that rugby isn't a total throwback to aparthied in SA (BBC World did the same with their "coverage" of the final..............interviewing a couple of Uncle Toms in Johannesburg!) I'm surprised no other Asian listers have commented (and indeed the star himself is so modest) about Dave Sowden's appearance on "Football Crazy" last week. For those of you unfamiliar with it, "FC" is produced by Star Sports in Singapore, and it is a dire and pathetic attempt to reproduce the formula of Baddiel & Skinner. It is the most lame thing you will ever see, but they always have a group of fans from one team. Last week it was the turn of the Mighty Whites, and there smack in the front row sitting next to the fat bastard who is the unfunniest of all the feeble presenters, sat our Dave.
