I'm only going on his goal scoring record for Barnet. That plus the fact he also won't feel as overawed playing at League 1 level as he was in the championship and also, clearly, defences on the whole won't be as good as in the championship.
All those things, plus his physical presence, explain why I said they MIGHT prove very useful players for us in league 1! -----Original Message----- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of David Brennan Sent: 16 May 2007 11:21 To: [email protected] Subject: Re: [LU] Who's left > Message: 4 > Date: Tue, 15 May 2007 12:19:09 +0100 > From: "Mark Humphries" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> > > Beckford and Kandol might prove very useful players for us in > League One, Beckford especially as he now knows he has what > it takes to score goals at that level, ie confidence. He's the Andy Cole of lower league football, ie he needs 30 chances to score one goal. He's had several gilt edged opportunities to score this season when I've been there, which has only been a dozen or so times, so god knows how many he missed when I wasn't! The bloke is just rubbish. If you can't head a cross in to an open goal from the six yard box whilst unmarked when playing in the Championship why do you think he's going to be able to do it playing in League One? I suppose you might surmise from the above that I don't like Kantdol.
