I use my Tom Tom 910 in the Cessna and it works fine up there to, so long as 
you don't follow the directions or speed limits :-)..................... Use 
map view

Tom tom gets good reviews including, from those i know using it, fits all your 
other crieteria including can be used by pedestrians and cyclists and can be 
picked up for a reasonable price,
