All the teams except Luton [& Hull--- but do they count?] pulled off great results for them. Southend have guts ---- they got their second wind back again. Barnsley will be flying after that win too. Neither are going to lay down and die. Douglas is now out for 3 games. I think that we have one bridge to many. Burnley & QPR [and Hull?] are clear . I thought that a loss for us & a win for Barnsley was on & would be bad for our morale. That is what has happened. Still, I think that it will be easier to regroup in a lower division. As things are next year would see us struggling again. Who would we have to play from the present team? The 'influential' loanees will be gone or too old. We have kids coming along & Wise has done enough to stay . In a strange way I feel sorry for Bates. But now we will see who he really is. Will he cut and run? Or does he stay and see this thing through? Right now I have no time for the buggars that stood on the side and waited. At least Bates mucked in. Put his hand in his pocket. He was there when we needed him . Bloody depressing. But not the end of the world. In short I cannot see us beating the drop. Even if we do next year would have been a nightmare. We need to start from scratch.Shit happens and it just did. But we are Leeds and we will be back. We will be that much stronger. Michael
