I'm surprised no one from last week's resurrected (no Easter pun intended)Wise v Blackwell spat jumped on this (well half on them at least) ;-) There was a point raised about how Wise could not claim Gray as one of his positive moves as he was really one of Blackwell's but that he'd not been allowed to sign him.
I was fairly gob smacked, when listening to Papa Smurf's interview on LUTV, prior to the Plymouth match in which he reacted, to the reporter's point about what a big difference Gray had made since his arrival, by saying that he agreed and he was actually supposed to have arrived, permanently, last summer after cuddly Ken had worked out a deal with the player and his agent BUT that BLACKWELL had decided that he did not want/need Gray at the club.. Ken goes on to say, that the decision was made all the worse by Blackwell's subsequent sale of Harding, leaving us with all sorts of problems at left back for the majority of the season.. Chalk one up in the Wise (and the not so wise) column, it seems. I'm sure that Blackie thought we wouldn't actually need a left back, what with Butler being so fleet of foot and mobile and all the cover we'd get from the tireless running of Gregan, Livermore and not forgetting our loyal hero Capt.. Kev. The last decent act that the clueless one can do, for us is to give us our money backing the Summer (actually he should give us a profit as he surely must believe that the player benefited and became even better, under his own superior coaching skills and management) and take Nichols back to League One, where he belongs....
