Well yet another game where we were utterly hammered and lucky to escape with only a one nil defeat. They hit the woodwork twice and had a decent penalty appeal turned down plus Casper made a couple of decent saves and Rui saved Caspers bacon (Danish - get it ?) with a goal saving block after Casper cocked up. Meanwhile at the other end ........er .....er ...... we had a couple of corners. !! It really was that bad played in driving rain we had nothing to offer. We played Carole on the right but he was very lightweight and ineffective, Blake and Healy can't play in the same team, Cressie is a long way short of match sharpness. Nicholls is not,as I thought after WBA Cup game, the answer to our prayers - he is very pedestrian. Rui contiues to impress for the most part, but our defending for the goal summed it all up when their player was allowed to run unchallenged with the ball then cut in onto his shooting foot and bang it in. Even at 1-0 you could not see us getting back into the game, even the late introduction of a 16 year old (Tom Elliott) could not save us :-) We could not really be faulted for effort but we are so lacking in class, pace,fitness, confidence and organisation it is painful to watch. Just before Christmas my mate told me that statistically no team has stayed in this Division after losing 22 games, well ,we have lost 21 so far and by late Tuesday night I am sure that figure will be the dreaded 22 and although I have not checked his info I think that will be curtains for us !!
