United boss Dennis Wise was quick to pay tribute to the fans who returned to Elland Road for the QPR game.
A season's best crowd of 29,593 watched the clash with the Hoops on Tuesday night, many taking advantage of the reduced admission prices offered by the club. The attendance was 6,500 higher than the previous best this season - against Sunderland in September - and was 9,000 higher than the club's average gate for the season. And the increased turn-out created a terrific atmosphere inside the stadium. "The fans were fantastic," said the boss. "I'd like to thank them for coming. It showed this is a massive club and we need them to get behind us and be on our side. "I think it was on the players minds before the game that there would be nearly 30,000 here and it was a big boost. "They got behind the players at the right times to give them a lift. "It created a good atmosphere. We wanted it to be lively and I was chuffed to bits." An analysis of the attendance at Tuesday's fixture against QPR showed that a total of 10,252 Leeds supporters purchased tickets at either £15 Adults/ £8 Junior. The final tickets available in this price category were sold in the rush on the morning of the game which left a number of supporters disappointed that there were only £25 tickets left available on the night (these were also reduced by £6 for the game from £31). The club are repeating the pricing offer for our fixture against Luton on Saturday March 10 and are advising supporters to book early on 0871 334 1992 to avoid disappointment. Tickets are now available on general sale for the Luton game and fans are urged to buy in advance. Tickets can be booked online. _______________________________________________ the Leeds List is an unmoderated mailing list and the list administrators accept no liability for the personal views and opinions of contributors.
