Meaningless - Kelly's getting paid for the contract that he and the club entered into freely. Nothing more nothing less. We will pay him that money whether he plays at right back, sits on the bench or sells programmes.
We should be using a player of his experience and (presumably) love for or pride in the club for all we can get from him, while he is still on our books. What happens when his contract is up is a different matter - although in Kelly's case it would seem cut and dried that he will be retiring.
