This reminds of the time a guy (hater of all things Leeds) approached me with a wager just prior to our appearance in the EC Final of 75. He bet me a fiver (18p a pint then!) that Leeds would be in the 2nd division within 10 years. I readily accepted thinking he'd taken leave of his senses, and thought even if I have to wait ten years and take account of inflation it still had to be worth 20 pints come 1985.
