I just want to thank everyone who sent good wishes, both on and off list.
It was quite overwhelming. I've seen people in forums and on lists say that
messages of support like these have really helped, and never really thought
they could. But, believe me, they have been a massive comfort.

We're doing OK. Parkinson's is a slow disease (in more ways than one) so
aside from having the diagnosis Rhona is not much different now to what she
was 3 months ago. The strangest thing was writing Christmas cards last
night. The Parkinson's really affects her hand writing, so for the first
time ever we've had to do one of those horrible round robin letters. I
spent yesterday morning installing my scanner so I could scan her signature
so she can word process all her letters now. They didn't teach me stuff
like that at medical school...

Our little lad, John Charles Emmott (Betty wanted to know his name), is
oblivious to everything and causing as much trouble as ever. Which is a
good thing, I think.

My BP is coming down. I was stunned that it was as high as it was, and that
it's being so stubborn coming down, even though I'm a lazy pie muncher.
I've never smoked and my cholesterol was pretty good. They're testing me
now for Conn's Syndrome [
http://www.netdoctor.co.uk/diseases/facts/conns.htm ] as a possible cause.
If it is that it's better news because that's curable.

I won't try and turn the list into my health blog :) but a lot of people
wanted to know how we were doing (pretty good now, all things considered),
and I wanted to thank you all for your good wishes. Thank you.

MOT

Sean
