Well being crap at cricket (13 all out against Abbey Grange, I top scored
with 4!) and not being allowed a footy team because the year above were so
crap. Allerton High School 5th form (1979-1980) can claim the world
"nutter" record for continuing a particularly intense game, using the
hockey posts (Professional or what?), for a whole period after the bell
had gone, only for the game to be cruelly abandoned in the 43rd minute of
injury time by Mr. Phillips, the physics teacher, with the cry of "You
boys, stop arsing around and get to your lessons" I missed a whole
chemistry lesson, which was nice.
