Just back from the game myself.

First game I've managed this season due to family commitments - which
disappeared at 14:00 today - in the car at 14:02 and at ER queueing
for a ticket at 14:52 - in my seat for 15:21 - along with another
19,500 or so.

Thought we did "ok" - a clean sheet was fantastic, the win was a
bonus. They threw everything at us second half and only the new keeper
and a bit of luck stopped them scoring.

Killa did well - another game or two like that to boost his shattered
confidence and he'll be back to his awesome self.

Butts was robust - ditto on the confidence for him - only less of an
issue. Great response to having the armband taken away.

Lewis struggled at LB on occasions and was rescued by Butts or Killa.
Having said that he was a far better option than Crainey has been. A
few more weeks of performances like that and some coaching (struggled
with the process of taking the ball forward/clearing it) and he'll
have the makings of a decent LB.

The back 4 made a very effective unit that can only improve as they
play together more.

Cresswelll looks to have piled a few pounds on - and really let his
head drop a few times. Needs to go on the same diet that Blake does.

Moore played well, took his goal well when he may not have taken the
same opportunity last season or a few weeks back.

Stack did well - one excellent game saving save and some good
distribution. Even if that at one stage of the second half just start
their attack again after our forwards lost the ball.

Derry had his best game of the season, booked for a perfectly good
tackle (hate to blast my own - but the ref was awful - no consistency
and some blatant decisions not made).

All in all a promising start to the Wise era - Denis Wise's barmy army
(we hate Chelsea).

cheers,

Andy
