Leeds agree to Chelsea settlement

Leeds chairman Ken Bates accused Chelsea of wrongdoing
Leeds have agreed a settlement with Chelsea and have dropped a
complaint that the Premiership champions tried to poach three of their
academy scholars.
Leeds chairman Ken Bates accused his former club of breaking youth
development rules to sign teenagers Tom Taiwo and Michael Woods.

He claimed Chelsea had also tried to persuade a third youngster to sign.

Chelsea will examine their procedure for recruiting youth players but
are not thought to have admitted liability.

The Premier League and the Football Association launched a joint
investigation into the issue.

In a joint statement, the two governing bodies said they considered
the matter closed
