Well Well Well, I go away for a few weeks, and look what happens. DFW as manager!
Well I don't think Blackwell was quite as bad as Rich thinks, but looking at the last 10-12 games last season + the first dozen this, he had to go - that's half a season of relegation form in total. The team needed new ideas as much as anything. I'd still like to thank KB for not taking the team down in his first season, and getting them into the top 6 last year, but it became obvious that he wasn't ever going to produce a team like say Reading were, just not his style. As for DFW. After Roy Keane and Spit, he is/was the most odious man in football. But time is a bit of a healer, and I'm kind of looking forward to see how he does, and what he does. It is a bit like getting an engine running again, or solving a complex problem. There must be a right place to start, or a right component to change to get on the right track. Perhaps axing Butler was the first step along the road. Must say I quite like the look of Dave N's team, unless Stack goes straight in for Sully, and I would echo every one of his reasons. Must say I quite rated Westlake from what I saw in the first few games. Cue DFW selecting that team, at getting beaten 4-0.
