Er... call me naive, but in this division, and if they actually turn up, that's not a bad team at all. One of the few good things to come out of our parlous state at the moment is that there's had to be a major reality check (Rich "Strachan would jump at the chance to leave Celtic and come back to Leeds" Walker aside). Now I'm not going to turn down a few pointed buys in the January sales. Nor do I think the new manager has got a cake-walk once (or if) he sorts out the mood in the dressing room. But we can easily shed the relegation form with that side given the right attitude and organisation. Blackwell, for all his abilities as a crisis, make-do-and-mend, manager didn't have skills in either tactics or, seemingly, dressing-room. If Wise gives us that, there is still cause for hope, no? Final point: youth is the future. If we get out of the current mess, we need a three to five year plan. Whether or not we get promoted next season or the one after or in five years, we need a good crop of hungry young players. I'd happily stay down for five years if that meant we had strength in depth of home-grown talent and could realistically become a force again once we do get promoted.
