Betty kindly posted us a story from the Telegraph, but what about this bit from today's Daily Mail? ...
Supporters' club chairman Ray Fell said: "Wise would not have been fans' first choice by far. He has been quoted as saying he doesn't particularly like Yorkshiremen. It is also an extension of the Chelsea connection ar Elland Road." But supporters' trust member John Boocock, who clashed with Bates soon after his arrival, said: "The way things are, if he had brought in Old Nick they'd give him a chance to succeed. Most fans see relegation looming anyway, and they will be relieved somebody, anybody, is taking over. The situation is so dire that if Wise does well he will have a lot of support at Elland Road, and, the truth is that his roguish image doesn't look all together out of place at Leeds." Eh up Betty, was it only Maggie Barber's favourite rag that you spoke to then? "Roguish image" - my @rse!! You'll be telling me that he wears a hat at a "jaunty angle" next :-) Maverick. _______________________________________________ the Leeds List is an unmoderated mailing list and the list administrators accept no liability for the personal views and opinions of contributors.
