I'd go one step further. With Pardew now being hamstrung by his board! If it continues he's out and unfortunately that means Curbishley is (I'd imagine) almost a dead cert for that one, which I suspect is why he's hanging on. We can't afford to hang on (Theoretically though if we did and that happened, what about Pardew?) Anyway ... That leaves a million and one managers alledgedly in the frame, of that lot I would only be happy to see Ranieri (Highly unlikely) OR Macca given the job. Hoddle (Great player, V Average manager), Souness (Ditto, only ever did something with Rangers, and lets face it we all could!), Wise (Nope), Robson (See Hoddle and Souness!), O'Leary (Still doesn't know what a substitution is for, you'd think he might have learnt!), Sturrock (F off, fatboy) and I think just about any other available name we've been linked with don't even come close to been a preferred choice of mine. I was talking to my PNE Supporting mate last night (Which, as you can imagine at the moment, is pretty painful!) and, although I despise (As he now does BTW) Davies, you have to say they have a pretty bloody good recent history for managers, Moyes, Davies and now Sampson! And do you know what he attributed it to? Expectation. The board don't set their targets too high, and neither do the fans, therefore there isn't that instant presure that anyone coming here would immediately get.
