I've just watched a resurrection of the stories about the allegations
against Don Revie of match fixing. Thrown in for good measure was mention
that Billy Bremner was often used as the good between. The chief accuser in
this tale, an obviously down on his luck and very forlorn looking Gary
Sprake. The story is that none of his former team mates will talk to him any
more because of his part in the 30 year old expose against the Don and
Billy, both of whom, the reporter, Damian Henderson omitted to mention have
been dead for a very long time and are therefore unable to defend
themselves.

The report was obviously put together some time ago as the background was
Sprake's first return to Elland Road since leaving in the early 70s. The
match used as a backdrop was not recent as the crowd looked like a shade
over 35000 however another shot showed Sprake sitting in an empty West Stand
watching Sullivan warm up. It was very very very obviously a shabby piece of
journalism put together to tie into today's interim report into transfers
bungs issued by Lord Stephens.

The BBC should be ashamed of themselves.
