I heard Blackwell was sacked for "gross misconduct" rather than the usual "left by mutual consent". Perhaps that means he won't be paid in full. And Perhaps Blackwell will fight it, but maybe Bates will point to Blackwell's "he can't sack me anyway because he can't afford it" statement or something along those lines.
