I share the despair about last night's performance - on reflection though
for those who say this was one of our worst ever performances I can only say
you havent been watching the team long enough.
In terms of our tactics and play we are very similar in quality to last
year, the difference is that instead of pinching vitories by the odd goal we
are losing them by the odd goal. Last night was of course different,
simailry to the stuffing we got from the Blades a few years ago. When we
play teams with purpose & pace basically I fear the worst.
I thought we played ok until we conceded last night, we certainly had most
of the ball but did hardly anything with it unlike Sunderland. Very little
positives from last night of particualr concern was Killa who had a torrid
evening and was culpable with all three goals. IMHO Warner could also have
done better with 1st & 3rd goals. Douglas, Lewis, Stone totally ineffective.
The team selection & tactics(?) continue to baffle and from last night I
think that the hangover from the play-off final continues. It looks like
Blackie has lost the changing room and that spells the end for him.
I cant see cuddly Ken sacking him in only though with it being only the 2nd
week of September. If things dont pick up before the next international
break (results wise) I fear the worst for him.
For most of last night the Leeds fans were great but I simply cannot see the
point in shouting for Blackie's head. It gees up the opposition and it cant
help the players.
Finally, cant finish without commenting that as usual Kelly was useless last
night and contributed strongly to their 1st goal. At the moment any team
that scores against us 1st is going to win the game. More worryingly, and
this I know may be premature, but Nicholls not only looks like Seth Johnson
he plays like him. OK 1st game for a while but his distribution was p*ss
poor and he bottled out of the 1st challenge he had to make.
Blackie got Douglas & Nicholls - Keane got Miller & Kavanagh. Nuff said.
