Next season is ground zero - and that will make us attractive to
investors.
Not unless Bates is willing to give up some share of ownership. Without
that, we will still depend upon income generated (i.e. the fans will pay) or
what cuddly Ken wants to spend out of the trusts money. Of course less money
being drained away to pay for the past SHOULD mean more money will be
available for current players wages but on the other hand if the club is not
generating sufficient income and Ken doesn't HAVE to pay out more, then
there is no reason to be confident that he WILL pay out more. A reduction in
outgoings on past players wages might only provide respite to the chairmans
wallet, or of course it could mean that the club generates an operating
profit which could be extracted by the owners. For example any money which
has been LOANED to the club to keep it going might start to be repaid once
the ex-players wages drop away. It is worth considering whether or nor the
club really HAD to spend money on the south stand this summer. It doesn't
really add up and that is probably because some of the numbers are missing.
We don't know what THAT is all about but what is in the public domain
doesn't make much sense.
