For me it's for exactly the reasons you've posted....when you look at all the overpaid tossers in the England setup it sort of makes me look forward MORE to the battling, underdog scenario of the lower leagues as opposed to the "I'm not tackling I've just done my hair" brigade. At least some of our players will be battling their hearts out next year...even if some of them haven't got an ounce of skill to go with the passion!
