Thought I'd come back early to liven the list up.
David Beckham - FFS, why the need to hold a press
conference to announce you're retiring as England
Captain ? Get real. Does he feel he has a God given
right to be picked as captain and that he has the
decision. This press conference showed everything you
need to know about him and his disgusting looking
wife. It's a joke. It goes back to my Leeds / Butler
argument. Why do we need to announce an England
captain ? For instance, John Terry - is he good enough
to say that he will be the next England Captain and
then have the right to play in all the games until the
next world cup ? This doesn't take into account form ?
What if John Terry plays like he did in Germany for
the next year or two - I wouldn't want him in my team.
In the same way that Butler was never going be dropped
for Leeds despite being one of the poorest performers.
Having a fixed captain is preferred but should take
into account current form. In this way a captain will
emerge as he will be the one that doesn't deserve to
be dropped.
World Cup 2006 - How boring has the competition been ?
A complete non-event. None of the England games will
be remembered for the football. Brazil were the worse
Brazil side ever and the fact that Portugal have made
it to the last 4 says it all. Over paid ponces diving
and rolling about. Football is dying on its arse.
Frank Lampard - always insisted that the bloke wasn't
up to it. Wrote it on this list about a year ago. All
I hear is that he is one of many world class players
we have got. Complete toss. He has a good shot
(usually) and can get into good positions if given a
free role amongst players who can do the leg work for
him (like at Chelsea). Apart from that he's one paced
and has no acceleration (he should play for Leeds !).
He's an average premiership player - no more, no less.
Owen Hargreaves put him to shame. Why wasn't it Frank
doing those runs into the area ? Answer : he's a fat ,
useless tosser. Never looked any good at West Ham and
wouldn't look any good if he went back there now.
Leeds - Blackwell OUT !!
Big season for us. Lots of questions that will be
answered.
