Hi
I wonder who will come after Ellis. More important who will choose
him? Even more important who really decided that he had to go and why.
I've never seen a boss who was the deputy that replaced his boss ,
ever trust a strong deputy for himself.
Ellis was very convenient for Blackwell & my money is on Bates
instigating his removal. My money is on a Bates replacement.
I remember what Bates said about Gullit [sp?]. Something along the
lines that he was a coach and not a manager. So they built a
managerial staff round him. When he went to Newcastle that all fell
apart. It proved Bates's point.
I wonder if the reverse process is going on in his mind about Blackwell.
Interesting because I never bought into Bates buying 'What's another
year?'. Not with his personality and his age. He will not gamble on
next year. It will have to be sewn up. I really believe how far
Blackwell will cooperate is going to be a key question.
But if I were Blackwell I would not [EMAIL PROTECTED] around with Bates..
Michael
