At the start of the season I was hoping for a top 6 finish, but could have
done without the playoffs to be honest. It's a cup competition and given
LUFC's appalling cup pedigree never ever expected us to win it, regardless
of who was in the final. Just about sums it up that we lose to a team we
got 4 points from during the season.

As I said before, I hope the players use this experience as a kick on for
next season, both to do better and to go for automatic promotion and not
risk that kind of experience again. I have a feeling we will have a bit of
a hangover and that could prove critical.

I have to take issue with your assertion that we played 'hoof it' and
Watford didn't! Right from the kick off they sent it back to their GK and
hoofed it to the corner flags. That's all they did the first half. It
clearly worked, but to attribute some kind of 'playing good football' to
their tactics is simple bollox. Second half they did pretty much the same,
apart from the fact they had a few breaks as we were pushing forward.

I do think we could have played it a bit more clever in the first half
against the aerial bombardment, time after time we hoofed it clear, into
touch, which meant it was coming straight back again.

To dispel any suggestion this was under instruction from Blackwell he could
quite clearly be seen telling the players, midway through the first half, to
hold the ball and keep possession for 5 mins. They by and large ignored
him.

As for the bookies not separating the teams - the first goal was massive in
this match. Had Derry's shot in the first half not squirmed wide from
Young's deflection then it would have been a totally different game.
Firstly the huge Leeds crowd would have been in full voice and shit the life
out of Watford players, and secondly Leeds would have been comfortable
knowing they were dealing with the aerial bombardment and actually listened
to KB and kept a bit of possession.

During a brief bit of normal play/Leeds possession in the first half their
defenders were all over the place, miskicking and stuff. Their nerves would
have been shot if we had scored first.

But we didn't.
