Right, I passed on heading to Chicago to watch the match as we have a local bar trying to make a go of it as a soccer pub...so off I went this morning. I expected and was worried I'd be the only soul in the place. When I arrived it's packed with people...hmmm...that's surprising in Milwaukee. I was further surprised that there was a huge majority decked out in Watford colours...as if Milwaukee has some underground Watford sub-culture....moving on...Jay Demerit is from Green Bay, Wisconsin...and the closest bar to Green Bay, Wisconsin showing the game is my bar in Milwaukee...it's the Jay Demerit family and friends travelling road show. Needless to say the morning only got worse...far WORSE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Their chanting and singing is still ringing in my ears.

Agreed with what's been posted so far. We were completely out classed from the manager to on the pitch. I had a few neutral friends show up to watch the mighty Whites...yep, I wouldn't exactly say they were converted. The were amazed at how we got this far, even for Americans they could tell our ability and athletiscism was second rate.

For what it's worth the only player I thought looked any good for us was Kilgallon.

And Douglas...may be one of the worst players I've ever seen and that's saying something considering for most of the match I didn't notice him.

Where do we go from here...I think this season with our "championship" veterans and premiership rejects squad was a one off roll of the dice to go up. Now let's boot Blackie...get Bruce Arena in after the World Cup and build a squad with some sort of long term future plan. Had we won it's clear that Gregan, Kelly, Butler, Douglas, Miller, Lewis, Richardson, Hulse, Miller would not have been good enough for next season as it is.

Give Blackie a nice parting gift for saving the ship and wish him well managing somewhere else. I'm praying someone comes in for him...Charlton anyone...ha, ha, ha, ha, ha!!!

When I got up this morning, it did briefly cross my mind that we may be looking at a repeat of the Coca-Cola cup final today, and although the performance wasn't quite in that category, it was of a similar ilk.

After ten minutes the writing was on the wall. Very little belief, a complete inability to defend set pieces (Watford found us out there) and frankly very little promise of inspiration from anywhere. Healy is the only player that I feel has the ability to spark something out of nothing. Frankly, I was delighted to be only one down at half-time.

Yes we got a little unlucky with the second goal, and yes we should have had a penalty, but Watford were significantly better than us on the day. I think it is true to say they were actually not that much better than us over the course of a season, but today the better team strolled it.

It's difficult to know where to go from here. I think we are still several players short of being good enough to go up, and we may be looking at the end of the road (or at least very close to it) for Gregan, Butler, Kelly, Sullivan, Miller, Bakke and a few others. Blackwell got us this far it's true, but the man is certainly not an inspirational character.

Based on our performance today, I don't begrudge Watford anything. I think we are a long way from where we need to be.

When do the fixtures come out? Fifty-two points might be enough to stay up next year.
