Hi y'all,

Nurse and failed ice-cream dessert juggler Paula has passed on an update that
she is happy to share with listers:

snip/
News: surgeon was in.... at this point, they will do the surgery, BUT they want
to build him up as much as possible. He is going to have a tube up the nose and
down to the stomach so they can feed him high protein and high calorie
liquid...in the middle of the night, and he eats whatever during the day. They
are going to put a catheter in so he isn't woken up so much during the night,
and he gets more sleep. Hopefully, it will mean he is more alert during the
day. They are changing his antibiotic to a stronger to keep infection at bay as
much as they can - he is eating a bit more than he has. He would have had a
Solero ice cream if I hadn't dropped it on the floor and got a "clumsy mare"
out of him. He is watching a little telly when he feels awake enough. They are
getting the physios in to do some arm and leg exercises to help so he can move
after surgery. It's all down to nutrition and excersie. It might be a couple
weeks before it happens, but unless something goes amiss with him, they will
take him on! We have a fighting chance!

Keep him in your prayers folks
OzPete
