Ha ha - yeah, ‘the great white hope’, ‘a little lad who runs around alot’ - well, yes, he bloody well did run around a lot, and scored a cracker as well :-)
Anyway, I was pretty surprised to see 7 changes at the start, even given the ‘celebrating’. Despite the nature of the game, I thought we looked pretty well-balanced across the pitch. Roberts looked sharp, although way too greedy at times; Poveda looked a yard quicker - his best game so far, and if he can learn to stay onside all the better; Struijk - very effective, looks very composed and is a good passer - perhaps slightly over-casual at times, but a good fit; Shackleton - worked bloody hard, and a great goal; Casilla - one brilliant save, one near disaster, looks much bigger than Meslier, still gives me the heebie-jeebies. Nice scenes at the end, there looks to be a genuine spirit between players and management, and good to see Orta and his binoculars ;-) As for Derby, playing with Rooney must be like playing with 10 men. He’s like the fat bloke who thinks he’s king dick in a Sunday pub team, barely breaking into a jog. Given todays results, Charlton absolutely need points, so the last game will be no walkover.
