Pretty much agree with that and first person I have seen say Swansea were
decent which is what I thought. I thought defensively we played reall well the
goal notwithstanding. Cooper, White and Philips were excellent. We really are a
very good team and that should hopefully bear out over the course of the
season. If we only lose one every 6 games we are going up.

Another home defeat and I think our home form is a concern both the way we’ve
started this season and also in the run in last season. We’re not playing badly
and in most games we’ve played ok and dominated games but there is a common
theme in that we are struggling to convert chances and then we concede late on.

Today, I thought we played really well. From the start I said to my mate that
Swansea were a proper team. Well organised with some excellent ball players and
pace in attack. Given that it is a real credit that we never let them trouble
us at all apart from a free kick. We dominated, won every ball and looked
completely in control and when I look back on the game I really can fault the
team effort and performance.

So if we’re being hyper critical we have to look at the attack and the wasted
chances. Allioski had 2 of the best but he’s no striker so you expect one or
two shots to end up in the stands. Bamford worked hard but was ineffective. I
am a Bamford fan but he looked out of sorts today and when he’s asked to run he
looks awkward and uneasy. My main gripe today was Harrison. Yes he got a lot of
the ball, yes he showed a load of great ball control and skill but time after
time he failed to deliver with the final ball and we’ve seen this time and time
again this season.

We hit the bar, and had numerous chances but it the end it was left to a
scuffed Swansea shot to win a game they really didn’t deserve to win. Smash and
grab completely.

Eddie and Costa came on and both looked lively and its my opinion that both
these players are too good to be sat on the bench. I don’t think at home we
need Philips, Forshaw and Klich in midfield , one could be replaced by Costa.

Scores

Kiko - 6 . Had knack all to do other than one save from a speculative shot and
pick the ball out of the net.

Dallas -8. I think he’s a real success story. I’ve questioned Dallas in terms
of what position does he play however I think he’s found it. His forward
movement, ball control and acceleration are top class and his defending is also
improving although just occasionally he reminds us he’s not a right back.
Really happy to be wrong about Dallas , he’s a top bloke.

Allioski - 6. 100% effort as you’d expect but he missed our 2 best chances.
Douglas or Allioski ? Allioski every day of the week for me.

White -9. I’ve been reserving judgement until I’ve seen half a dozen games but
now I have I have to say that Ben is a real talent. Today Swansea were lively
but White and Cooper snuffed out everything they had to offer for 89 minutes.
He’s fast, can tackle , win headers and very comfortable and creative on the
ball.

Cooper - 9. The man who is always liable to fuck up. Ok but today he won tackle
after tackle and was immense at the back. He’s improved a lot over the last
year and for me I don’t think there’s a better pure defender in the league at
the moment.

Philips - 9. As a frequent critic of Kalvin I have to say today he was superb.
His tackling was incredible. He also won the ball and advanced forward
positively on numerous occasions which is something we don’t always see from
him. He took some knocks today but overall he was immense. I do love him.

Forshaw - 7. Busy, involved and bossing midfield. He just didn’t make the
impact he has in the away games.

Harrison - 6. I’ve  already said it but I’d go further and say that Harrison is
currently not good enough to play in the PL ( remember City want £20 mill for
him) and if he continues to waste good opportunities I’d be quite happy for him
to be replaced by Costa. Flattering to deceive.

Bamford - 6. I think he’s struggling a bit. Still think we need to be playing a
different system at home. Lone striker doesn’t do it.

Hernandez - 6. I think it’s worrying when Hernandez doesn’t influence games. He
didn’t have a bad game but he didn’t influence it like it can.

Klich - 6 Similar to Pablo, he didn’t influence the game but he worked hard
first half and was involved.

Subs :

Eddie -7 lively. His pace and awareness are frightening. He could have had a
couple of goals. I would wager that if he had started he would have.

Costs - 7. Live wire, dangerous, he needs to start.

My opinion is that Eddie and Costa are too good to be on the bench. They have
pace and ability to burn.

I’m pissed off but actually happy with our performance. I’m beginning to think
we are the best team in the league but we need to sort out the home
performances.

Gigondas from Waitrose on special offer tonight. That’s after 6 pints pre and
post match today. Wankered.
