Can we, just for a few moments, revel in this moment? We sit proudly at
the top of the Championship, no we're not the finished article and, if
we DO manage to keep it up and actually GO up, we'll need to invest in
some better players to 'do a Wolves' and compete up there from the off.
But we've our club back, our ground back, a legendary manager and we're
being run well for the first time since I can remember (New badge aside
... ahem!)
Meanwhile, over t'hill the self styled 'United' (Always absolutely
loathed this Media driven wank, as if they OWN that moniker! If anyone
responds to the "Who do you support?" question with "United" I start
talking to them about Sheffield (They were THE first United to be fair
to them) and how well they're doing under Wilder, confuses the fuck out
of the poor prawn sandwich eater, knowing I'm a Leeds fan :)) are in
freefall. What an absolute delight to watch. It's been rumbling on now
for, maybe, 3 or 4 years, but it's apparent that they are truly rotten
to the core and rudderless. £400M spent on 11 players, fuck all return
on investment. I was hoping Mourinho stayed on, playing his really
attractive, modern style of football and ground them into a respectable
7th place this season ... before a full on relegation battle next.
Not since THE greatest footballing season (1974-5 - LUFC Champions, MUFC
relegated) have a I enjoyed a teams total demise, long may it continue!
