Just to mention Forest game first I am glad that my view of the ref and his ineptitude was not just my 'leeds tinted goggles' - this from Phil Hay in YEP Referee: Jeremy Simpson (Lancashire) - All over the place with some of his decisions. Deserved the treatment he got from the crowd. 4/10 The fact that we have an FA cup game next and so 2 weeks till the next league game will hopefully help us - Ayling has not looked right for much of the season and has looked very tired and jaded recently - whilst I hope his injury is something and nothing - I reckon a two week lay off can only help him. Similarliy Alioski is looking worse these last few games than he did before (though the two games without Saiz did not help him) - a rest will help him too SO whilst I do not want TC to go full Monk v Newport, the team Monk chose v Sutton was ridiculous (Billy Whitehurst and the Mackay twins FFS) I do think this is a chance to rest some players and give the likes of Anita, Klitch, Sacko a run out. It may do Grot some good to play from the start (or maybe play Lassogga and hopefully get him on the scoresheet) Pennington, Shaunessey (as a defender) and Cibicki will all benefit from a run out and allow Cooper and Pontus to have a rest / week off. So hopefully TC will pick a starting XI full of squad players rather than either first teamers or kids/never will be types. I do not know if any of the u23s are good enough but maybe Madger Gomes or Kun (whatever) or maybe Jack Clarke may get a place on the bench but not a game unless or until we get a few goals up. We know from the League cup that Newport will be a rough and tough team but should not hae enough to worry us The last game v Newport was the one where Green messed up big time - also Stokes started the game - full line up that day Green, Borthwick-Jackson, Shaughnessy, Ayling, Anita (Cooper 60), Klich, Vieira, Roofe (Alioski 78), Gomes, Dallas, Stokes (Saiz 66).
