You may have a point Rich re beer and drugs - I do always put the caveat on my
reports that I am not always best placed to judge BUT what I do know is that
for the second home game running I have left ER very happy and content with
what I have seen and with a feeling of growing confidence.
Furthermore the general feeling of my mates and those surrounding me at the
ground and on the bus etc was one of general optimism and well being. 4 wins
out of 5 (the other a narrow 1 nil defeat that we could and should have got
something out of) speaks for itself.I am not one for 'possession stats' they
prove nothing in my opinion - even stats re shots and shots on target do not
show the real picture, the game is more nuanced than that. I know that when we
won under Evans and Redfearn it was hard to get excited, each game was very
much on its own, and for many of the wins (esp under Redders) it was hard to
see how we had won. The last few games we are making real progress in my
opinion, and now have a team and formation that seems to work and which most of
us would pick and expect to see next time. We seem to have a plan, an ethos
etc.I am quietly confident and optimistic - I am concerned about where the 50
goals we need this season will come from, and as always with Cellino, worry
that he will do something silly that will upset everything (I remember him
sacking Thompson just when it was starting to look as if Thompson and Redfearn
were a proper partnership)I do think we rely very much on Wood and to a lesser
extent Jansson staying fit - take them out and we may struggle, and of course
the fact that so many of our players are not yet 'ours' BUT I will enjoy the
weeks break on the back of a good win, and in my view, a good performance, and
dreaming of more , and better, to come
Dave
Maybe that 7 pints and Morphine was the difference between our reports.
