In my project management teaching days, I'd drum it into students that if you don't learn from your mistakes, you'll end up repeating them.
Tony Benn (I can't believe I'm quoting him!) said some wise words about what would happen if we stayed in the "common market" back in 1975, he lost the argument and the referendum, but the past 40 years have proved him to be correct. The common market, free trade area was a great concept, if it had stayed at that level and not evolved towards the United States of Europe, then there is no doubt that this would be beneficial for us as a country. To see how far we have veered from what we signed up for in 1975, makes me scared, not worried for the next 40+ years, to think of what we could become - or rather, what we would degenerate to. I'm learning lessons from the past. Out, let us take charge of our future and not leave it to faceless bureaucrats in Brussels. Not to mention the £160M net we would be better off a week. PS. I see Bayley-Peacock is close to signing a new deal, but we should be resigned to,losing Taylor & Lewis.
