Well that was as uninspiring a 90 minutes as you could wish to spend. Clueless, guileless garbage...both teams. The difference being that Ipswich were faster and more physical, and they took the gift offered by Silvestri.
Rosler picked the starting eleven that most of us probably would have done, but it left him nothing on the bench if he needed to change things to win the game...Byram on for Dallas after 60 minutes...changes nothing except replacing a specialist winger with one learning that role. Playing Cook on the left is a waste. Bamba was an accident waiting to happen after another reckless booking ten minutes in. Whatever Wood brings to the team, he is not a target man. And there's not a lot of point in lumping the ball at Antenucci's head either. Play your best players in their best position. So, you'd have the same back 5, Byram, Murphy, Cook, Dallas and either Mowatt or Adeyemi across the Middle...and Antenucci up front. Raise the tempo and pass the ball to feet. However much the crowd dislike the methodical build up from the back, including lots of passes back to Silvestri, it is clearly what Rosler wants them to do...so there's not a lot of point in barracking them about it. Very poor indeed.
