Second visit of the season for me.
Took my lad (7) in the north west stand, who's been to a few games with me now.
I was also watching Murphy - have to agree with what's been said. I really want
him to be good and I thought first 15 minutes he looked ok. He was making
himself available for the ball and using it fairly well. Then he vanished from
the game.
Austin is a frustrating player - some of our best play (if not all) came from
him but I wish he'd stop shooting from 30 yards! If I was his manager i'd fine
him every time he does it!
McCormack also frustrates me. Like rich has said, one of the few Leeds players
that can offer something creative but someone should tell him he's not messi.
Lost count if the number of times he tried a little flick or step over and gave
the ball away. There was one in the last 5 mins when the ball was played up to
him on the half way line and instead of holding it up, he tried an elaborate
flick, gave it away and we were under pressure.
I have to admit I'm no fan of Peltier and my heart sank when I realised he was
playing. Thought he was fairly steady but he offers nothing going forward. I've
never seen him successfully cross the ball. He also looked knackered after
about 30 minutes.
Overall I thought we shaded the game but it really was a poor contest between
two average (at best) teams.
On what I've seen of the championship though there aren't many good sides, just
a lot of average ones. A few decent signings (we still look shaky at the back
and a better team than Yeovil would have punished us) and I would expect a
playoff spot.
Disappointed my old season ticket seat in the east upper is now in the
corporate hospitality section!
The afternoon was spoilt somewhat when I found a parking ticket on my car - I
park in the area to the left of the tunnel on lowfields road (gelderd road
side). Didn't notice double red lines - the ticket is from a private firm
though , vcs, not the police or traffic warden. Not sure whether to pay the 60
quid or just bin it.
