Never saw King john in the flesh, but talked to those that did and having just read his autobiography and although you can't directly compare players from different era's cos the game is so different, I think it's fair to say given his ability to play C half and C forward, as well as his trailblazing move to Italy, his amazing disciplinary record, all round superniceness, John Charles stands head and shoulders above any player today.
