Having used Betfair for a 100% cast iron winning betting methodology, my understanding is that they aren't a Bookie, they just provide a platform for you to bet with other people. They take a cut of all bets, they never pay out a penny, just rake it in. It is a brilliant idea (for them) and possibly the greatest ever licence to print money.
