I don't know if the patch mentioned in the original email is in Daniel's tree or not, but I have been running several mt7620-devices (so rt2800) with the additional rt2x00 patches since they were pushed (mid-March). Since then, I have not had any issues with wifi on my devices. Also, my sure-fire way of crashing (or at least triggering errors) the driver was to run a wifi-scan tool provided by Apple. I am no longer able to trigger any errors when using this tool.
