IMO Lazarus is (not so far to be) the best tool to develop "GPL
utilities to be added to Gnome desktop". But not only utilities. Not
only Gnome. 'can be LGPL libraries, and so on...

Lazarus can be used in order to develop professional apps. One can make
a living thanks to fpc/lazarus. Fine!

Sometimes, Free Softwares have to provide specific look too. For
example, multimedia softwares...

Actually, I love fpc and lazarus because they're intended to develop...
so many kind of apps. And they're free. I hope ;-)
