Sounds like you're missing something gdk or gdk-pixbuf needs, I think Lazarus 
would pick up if those libraries themselves were missing, but it seems to 
have a real problem linking against them on your machine. Perhaps you should 
start by making sure you have the latest version of gdk and gdk-pixbuf, also 
are you compiling against gtk1 or gtk2  ? The library requirements are 
obviously different.
