Thank you both for the information, I tried Michael's workarround, it
did not work for me.
What worked in the end was using latest 3.0.1 compiler with lazbuild.

Yes, it does not /require/ 3.0 or trunk, but trunk (and also 3.0) will
have the problem solved by only supporting dwarf for Mac OS X, thus
-gl will (should?) default to dwarf by itself.
