The easiest is to simply create a Github account, then go to the EpikTimer repository in my account and click "Fork". Github will do the rest and give you instructions on how to checkout your forked version. Git has excellent documentation at http://git-scm.com/documentation. The Internet is also full of very good tutorials and other documentation/tips on git.
